USMNT Hosts Chile in St. Louis Following Impressive Win Over Peru

The United States is scheduled to host Chile in St. Louis on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET, with the match airing on TNT and truTV. Both teams are continuing their post-World Cup international friendly schedules. Mauricio Pochettino’s young USMNT opened its new cycle with a 4-1 win over Peru, featuring 11 debutants and first-cap goals from Justin Ellis and Julian Hall. Chile, which missed the 2026 World Cup, is coming off a 1-0 loss to Canada, in which Jonathan David scored early and two Chile players were sent off.
Chile remains under interim coach Nicolás Córdova after Ricardo Gareca stepped down; the federation is waiting until a new board is elected in November before making a permanent appointment.
Cavan Sullivan, Justin Ellis and Peyton Miller started against Peru. Ellis scored four minutes into the match, while Julian Hall scored 10 minutes after coming on as his replacement.
Canada created numerous chances against Chile despite winning only 1-0: it attempted 22 shots, hit the woodwork twice and missed three major chances.
