Gangs of London Renewed for Season 4

Apple announced that Slow Horses Season 7 will consist of six episodes and that the renewal was made in July 2025.
Season 7 is being adapted from Bad Actors, the eighth main novel in Mick Herron’s Slough House series. The book involves a missing government adviser, an MI5 scandal and questions surrounding Diana Taverner, although the television series’ confirmed premise is the hunt for a government mole.
Ben Vanstone is adapting and executive producing Slow Horses Season 7, while Robert McKillop is set to direct; Gary Oldman is also listed among the executive producers.
Slow Horses’ sixth-season run is scheduled to release weekly, with episodes continuing through October 21, 2026, rather than arriving all at once.
Gangs of London is based on a video game created by Sony’s London Studio, but series creators Gareth Evans and Matt Flannery substantially expanded the game’s relatively light narrative into a prestige crime drama.
Apple TV+ has renewed its acclaimed spy thriller Slow Horses for seasons 6 and 7, with Gary Oldman returning as Jackson Lamb, a disgraced British intelligence chief. Season 6 arrives September 16, 2026, releasing weekly through October, while season 7 will adapt Mick Herron's novel Bad Actors and focus on Lamb's team hunting for a mole inside the government.
The renewal reflects Slow Horses' status as one of television's most prestigious spy dramas. Meanwhile, the British crime drama Gangs of London — known for stylized violence and power struggles among criminal syndicates — has also reportedly secured a fourth season, joining a wave of high-quality UK crime and espionage shows dominating global streaming.
Season 6 will contain multiple episodes and continue the existing story before the show pivots to new material. Apple TV+ confirmed the renewal in July 2025, signaling confidence in the series' ability to sustain viewership. Gary Oldman, who won critical acclaim for his role as Lamb, remains attached as both star and executive producer.
Season 7 will be Ben Vanstone's adaptation of Bad Actors, the eighth book in Mick Herron's Slough House series. Robert McKillop directs. The new season promises to deepen mysteries around MI5 operations and government corruption, core themes that have defined the show since its debut.
Gangs of London has carved out its own identity within the crowded space of British crime television. Created by Gareth Evans and Matt Flannery, the series draws from a Sony video game but expands it into a prestige drama centered on criminal syndicates battling for power after a kingpin's death.
The show blends intricate plot mechanics with highly stylized, brutal violence. While often compared to Slow Horses and Peaky Blinders, it focuses on modern organized crime rather than intelligence agencies or historical settings, giving it distinct narrative territory within the prestige TV ecosystem.
The renewals of both Slow Horses and Gangs of London reflect international appetite for British crime and spy narratives. Peaky Blinders, The Fall, and Bodyguard have set a high bar for complex, character-driven storytelling in this genre.
Streaming platforms are doubling down on these franchises because they attract awards attention and loyal audiences. Slow Horses alone has won multiple Emmy and BAFTA Awards, proving that prestige spy dramas remain commercially and critically valuable in an oversaturated market.
