Jersey Mike's Subs Files for NYSE IPO, Plans Global Expansion

Jersey Mike’s Subs has filed with the SEC to pursue an initial public offering, aiming to list on the NYSE under the ticker JMKE this year. Morgan Stanley, Jefferies, and JPMorgan Chase are leading the deal, with Blackstone as the majority owner since early 2025 and founder Peter Cancro maintaining a minority stake after stepping down as CEO. The chain operates more than 3,000 locations across the US and Canada and has been pursuing international expansion, including moves into the UK and Ireland, while continuing to emphasize its sub sandwich concept and in-store production. Reported gross revenue is substantial, with figures around $714 million for the trailing year and strong unit economics cited in pre-IPO materials, including average unit volumes near $1.4 million and double-digit same-store sales growth in recent years. The offering is expected to raise up to about $100 million, and the deal is being coordinated by a broad syndicate of banks and investment firms, reflecting Jersey Mike’s scale and investor appeal. The IPO follows heightened activity in U.S. listings and mirrors the restaurant chain’s public-ready profile, including its advertising identity and competitive positioning against Subway, Firehouse Subs, and Chipotle.
Jersey Mike’s IPO materials highlight an average unit volume of about $1.4 million and 50% cumulative same-store sales growth from 2020 to 2025.
Blackstone purchased a majority stake in Jersey Mike’s in early 2025, with founder Peter Cancro retaining a significant minority stake after stepping down as CEO; reports peg the deal around $8 billion.
Founder Peter Cancro’s expansion plan includes opening about 300 Jersey Mike’s stores in the UK and Ireland.
The IPO syndicate extends beyond the big three banks, featuring a broad roster of joint bookrunners such as Barclays, Goldman Sachs, Evercore ISI, UBS, BofA Securities and others.
Jersey Mike’s advertising campaign includes high-profile elements such as Danny DeVito in its marketing.
