England Duo Ezri Konsa and Nico O'Reilly Face Late Fitness Tests Before Czechia Match

Ezri Konsa and Nico O’Reilly are doubts for England’s Nations League match against the Czech Republic after training separately from the squad on Monday. Both played the full 90 minutes in Saturday’s 3-2 defeat to Spain, but neither has been ruled out of Tuesday’s game in Prague. Thomas Tuchel has potential replacements, including Lewis Hall at left-back and Jarrad Branthwaite, Jarell Quansah or Trevoh Chalobah at centre-back. England have already had several players withdraw from the squad and face a demanding four-match international window, with games against Croatia and the Czech Republic still to come after Tuesday.
Nico O’Reilly provided his first goal involvement for England against Spain, delivering the cross for Harry Kane’s goal.
O’Reilly also made the mistake that allowed Alex Baena to equalise for Spain at 2-2 before Spain went on to win.
Among those who had withdrawn before the Spain match were Declan Rice, Cole Palmer, Kobbie Mainoo, Marcus Rashford and Tino Livramento.
Thomas Tuchel criticised the compressed schedule, saying he could hardly think of a period in club football with such a short turnaround: “Saturday-Tuesday and then another Saturday-Tuesday.”
