Towercrest Capital Adjusts Portfolio in Q1, Boosting Bond and Small-Cap ETF Holdings

Towercrest increased its MUB stake to 139,953 shares, about 2.3% of the portfolio, and the position is ranked as its 15th largest holding with an estimated value of around $14.9 million.
AGG is Towercrest's 3rd-largest holding, comprising roughly 6.3% of its portfolio after a 6.7% increase to 408,315 shares, valued at about $40.5 million.
IJR rose 4.0% to 101,461 shares, about 2.0% of the portfolio, valued at roughly $12.6 million and is the 17th-largest holding in Towercrest’s lineup.
During the period, SCHX traded intraday with a gain of about $0.11 to $29.74 and 9.82 million shares changing hands as Towercrest reduced its stake by 1.6% to 2,176,358 shares.
Towercrest Capital Management made a clear push into bond ETFs during the first quarter of 2026, lifting its stake in the iShares Core U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF (AGG) by 6.7% and its iShares National Muni Bond ETF (MUB) position by 4.2%, according to Watchlist News. The moves underscore a deliberate tilt toward fixed-income holdings as the firm continues to fine-tune its diversified portfolio.
At the same time, Towercrest trimmed its Schwab US Large-Cap ETF (SCHX) stake by 1.6%, even as that position remains its second-largest holding. The adjustments paint a picture of a firm actively rebalancing — not overhauling — its book.
AGG is now Towercrest's third-largest holding. The firm bought enough shares to push its total to 408,315, valued at roughly $40.5 million. That makes AGG about 6.3% of the entire portfolio, according to Watchlist News.
MUB, which holds municipal bonds exempt from federal taxes, also grew. Towercrest added 5,657 shares, bringing its total to 139,953. The position is worth about $14.9 million and ranks as the firm's 15th-largest holding, representing 2.3% of the portfolio.
It wasn't only bonds getting more attention. Towercrest also raised its position in the iShares Core S&P Small-Cap ETF (IJR) by 4.0%, bringing the total to 101,461 shares. The holding is valued at about $12.6 million and sits at 17th in the firm's lineup, making up around 2.0% of the portfolio.
IJR tracks small U.S. companies. Adding to it alongside bond ETFs suggests Towercrest is spreading risk across both ends of the market — not just seeking safety in bonds alone.
Even as Towercrest added to several positions, it cut its SCHX holding by 1.6%, reducing the total to 2,176,358 shares. Despite the trim, SCHX remains the firm's second-largest holding, worth approximately $55.8 million. During the period, SCHX traded with a gain of about $0.11 to reach $29.74, with nearly 9.82 million shares changing hands that day.
The reduction is small in percentage terms but notable given the position's size. It may reflect a modest shift of weight from large-cap U.S. equities toward fixed income — without making any dramatic exit from stocks.
The bond moves were not the only additions. According to Ticker Report, Towercrest also increased its stake in the iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) by 4.9% during the first quarter, bringing that total to 104,188 shares. IVV tracks the 500 largest U.S. companies.
Taken together, Towercrest's Q1 moves show a firm adding selectively across asset classes — bonds, small caps, and large-cap core equities alike — while making only minor trims elsewhere. The overall direction is toward broader diversification, not a sharp pivot in any single direction.
