WCM Investment Management Adjusts Major Holdings in Q1, Trimming Vertex and Boosting Healthcare REIT

WCM trimmed Vertex Pharmaceuticals holdings by 0.7% in Q1 to 1,121,341 shares after selling 7,804 shares, with the position valued at about $496.93 million; institutional investors and hedge funds own 90.96% of Vertex stock.
Royal Bank of Canada boosted its position in American Healthcare REIT by 2,984.1% in the fourth quarter, now holding 6,161,549 shares worth about $289.96 million, even as WCM increased its AHR stake by 0.5% to 3,425,295 shares in Q1.
Regal Rexnord: WCM’s stake fell 26.0% in the 1st quarter to 110,177 shares, representing about 0.17% of the company and a value of roughly $19.6 million.
Inter & Co.: WCM reduced its holdings by 5.5% to 10,439,629 shares, about 2.37% of the outstanding stock, with a market value around $79.9 million.
Medline: WCM cut its stake by 1.4% to 7,218,731 shares, valued at about $307.66 million after selling 105,852 shares; several analysts issued price-target changes in response to the stock, including Robert W. Baird lowering its target to $45, Tigress Financial raising to $62, Citi cutting to $55, Deutsche Bank at $42, and BNP Paribas Exane turning neutral.
WCM Investment Management LLC trimmed its stake in Vertex Pharmaceuticals by 0.7% in the first quarter, selling 7,804 shares, according to Watchlist News. The firm now holds 1,121,341 shares of the drugmaker, valued at roughly $496.93 million.
The move is part of a broader wave of portfolio adjustments by WCM across several holdings. The firm cut or added to positions in American Healthcare REIT, Regal Rexnord, Inter & Co., and Medline all in the same quarter.
WCM sold 7,804 Vertex shares in Q1, leaving it with 1,121,341 shares worth about $497 million, per Watchlist News. Vertex is heavily owned by large investors. Institutional investors and hedge funds together control 90.96% of all outstanding Vertex stock.
WCM's trim is small relative to its total position, representing less than 1% of its Vertex holding. The sale signals a modest pullback rather than a major exit from the pharmaceutical name.
WCM made a far larger cut to its Regal Rexnord position. The firm sold 38,655 shares in Q1, shrinking its stake by 26%, according to Ticker Report. It now holds 110,177 shares, worth about $19.6 million, equal to roughly 0.17% of the company.
That reduction stands out from WCM's other moves. Most of its other Q1 trims were in the 1%-6% range. The Regal Rexnord cut was far more aggressive and suggests a deliberate shift away from that position.
WCM cut its Inter & Co. holdings by 5.5%, selling 609,879 shares, per Ticker Report. The firm now owns 10,439,629 shares, about 2.37% of the Brazilian digital bank's outstanding stock, valued at around $79.9 million.
In Medline, WCM sold 105,852 shares, lowering its stake by 1.4% to 7,218,731 shares worth about $307.66 million. Analysts have been active on the stock. Robert W. Baird cut its price target to $45. Tigress Financial raised its target to $62. Citi lowered to $55, Deutsche Bank sits at $42, and BNP Paribas Exane turned neutral.
While WCM nudged its American Healthcare REIT stake up 0.5% to 3,425,295 shares worth about $161 million, another institution made a far bigger move. Royal Bank of Canada boosted its AHR position by 2,984.1% in Q4, according to Ticker Report. It now holds 6,161,549 shares worth roughly $289.96 million.
That kind of jump — nearly 30 times the prior holding — signals strong conviction from RBC in the healthcare real estate sector. It dwarfs WCM's incremental add and makes Royal Bank of Canada one of the largest institutional holders in the name.
