Indian Railways Schedules 102 Festive Special Train Trips for Holiday Season

Indian Railways is adding festive-season services to meet higher passenger demand. The Solapur Division will run 102 special trips from October 10 to November 24 on routes linking Mumbai with Chennai and Latur, and Kolhapur with Kalaburagi; the Kolhapur–Kalaburagi route accounts for 64 trips, and bookings were reported to open September 27. A weekly Mumbai–Bengaluru special will make seven trips in each direction from October 10/11 to November 21/22, with 24 stops and a journey of about 23½ hours. Other services include Bengaluru–Visakhapatnam specials and one-way trains from Mumbai to Nagpur, Amravati, Kolhapur and Solapur. South Western Railway also scheduled a Bengaluru Cantonment–Madgaon special for the October long weekend, departing October 1 and returning October 4 via Karwar. The services add connections across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Goa during festive and holiday travel periods.
