Communities Host Senior Expos Connecting Older Adults With Health Resources and Local Services

Several communities are hosting events for older adults and caregivers focused on connecting attendees with local services, health resources and vendors. Independent Newsmedia’s Senior Expo is scheduled for Sept. 23 at Sun City’s Sundial Recreation Center, featuring more than 50 vendors, health screenings and information on products and services. Sauk Valley Media’s free 2026 Senior Showcase will take place Oct. 6 at Northland Mall in Sterling, with more than 40 exhibitors covering health care, caregiving, retirement planning, healthy living and long-term care. Franklin, Massachusetts, will hold a Senior Expo on Oct. 2 at the Franklin Senior Center to connect older adults and caregivers with community resources, with shuttle service available from St. Mary’s parking lot.
The Sun City Senior Expo will run from 9 a.m. to noon, and organizers say the event has previously been successful for both attendees and vendors.
Sauk Valley Media’s Senior Showcase is free and open to the public and will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; organizers describe it as the event’s 27th year.
Kelly Null of Shaw Media said the Senior Showcase draws returning attendees because they seek information about companies and products designed for people over 50, while exhibitors are prepared to answer questions about senior living, retirement and health care.
The 2026 Senior Showcase is sponsored by Shaw Media, CGH Medical Center, OSF HealthCare and Gaffey Home Nursing & Hospice.
