British actor Patrick Godfrey, best known for portraying Leonardo da Vinci in the 1998 film Ever After: A Cinderella Story, has died at age 93. His representatives said he passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, and no cause of death was announced. Godfrey built a long career spanning Shakespearean theatre, film and television, and radio work after joining the BBC’s Radio Drama Company in the mid-1950s. His screen credits included roles in A Room with a View and Oliver Twist, and later appearances in productions such as Les Misérables. He also lent his distinctive voice to video game characters in titles including BioShock 2 and the Red Dead Redemption series. His daughter, Kate Godfrey, is described as “Head of Voice at the Royal Shakespeare Company,” in addition to being one of the actor’s two children.
