La Mancha Investments to Reduce Stake in Belo Sun Mining After Option Exercise

La Mancha Investments S. Ă r. l. will file an early warning report after Belo Sun Mining Corp. exercised a call option on September 7, 2026. Yahoo Finance reports that Belo Sun bought back 28,063,062 common shares for approximately CAD 37.9 million. La Mancha's stake in the mining company will drop from 24.9% to 19.9% after the transaction settles.
The Whig reports that La Mancha Investments owned 141.1 million Belo Sun shares before the exercise. Of those, 56.1 million shares were subject to the call option agreement. After settlement, La Mancha will own 113.1 million shares. This represents a drop of 28 million shares, or about 5 percentage points of ownership.
La Mancha Investments is a wholly owned subsidiary of La Mancha Resource Fund SCSp. Montreal Gazette reports the fund manages mining investments globally. The company had been building its stake in Belo Sun, a Toronto Stock Exchange-listed mining exploration company. The call option agreement gave Belo Sun the right to buy back shares at a set price.
Canadian securities laws require large shareholders to file early warning reports when their stake changes materially. Pembroke Observer confirms La Mancha will file this report following the transaction. The filing ensures transparency about who controls shares in publicly traded companies. It helps other investors track significant ownership shifts at Belo Sun.
