Visa and Circle Back Velocity to Expand Global Stablecoin Infrastructure with $48 Million

Visa, Circle Ventures, Ripple, Haun Ventures, Translink Capital and Mirana Ventures have invested in Velocity, bringing the company's total Series A funding to $48 million. The investment comes after Velocity announced a $10 million extension to its Series A, following the company’s $38 million Series A announcement last month. The extension will support Velocity's work to bring stablecoin infrastructure to global financial institutions and merchants. The company is building an infrastructure that allows institutions and businesses to use stablecoins for settlement, liquidity and treasury operations without replacing their existing systems. With total funding of $48m, Velocity aims to make stablecoins a seamless part of how institutions move and manage money, connecting issuers, acquirers, merchants, and financial institutions through infrastructure designed for continuous global settlement.
