Betts Late-Season Surge

Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts begins his familiar late-season surge.

Mookie Betts, a Dodgers player who has experienced a late-season surge in his career, has been successful in the past two years. Last year, Betts ended his season by hitting.317 with an.892 OPS over his final 47 games of the regular season, and in his past 29 games, he was 35 for 114 with an 0.887 OPS, five home runs and 22 RBIs. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts attributed Betts' success to his focus on helping the team win rather than focusing on stats. Shohei Ohtani returned to the lineup after four days off to address his troublesome left knee and right biceps. Despite this, Roberts said the Dodgers had put a "pin in throwing" for now and have no timetable for when he will resume his pitching.
