Apogee Minerals Engages Independent Trading Group to Enhance Share Liquidity on TSXV.

Apogee Minerals Ltd. (TSXV: APMI), a mineral exploration company, has hired Independent Trading Group (ITG) to act as its market maker starting July 20, 2026, according to National Post. ITG will buy and sell APMI shares on the TSX Venture Exchange and other trading venues to keep the market stable and make the stock easier to trade.
Apogee will pay ITG $5,500 per month for the service, billed in advance each month, Leader Post reported. The deal begins with a one-month term and renews automatically unless either side gives 30 days' notice to end it.
A market maker is a firm that stands ready to buy or sell a stock at any time. This keeps trading flowing smoothly, even when few investors are actively trading. For small exploration companies like Apogee, low trading volume can make it hard for investors to buy or sell shares quickly. Hiring a market maker helps fix that problem.
ITG will operate across all trading venues where APMI shares are listed, not just the TSXV, according to Fort McMurray Today. The goal is to narrow the gap between buy and sell prices and give investors a fairer, more active market.
The agreement follows TSX Venture Exchange rules for market-making services. The TSXV sets these rules to make sure market makers act fairly and don't manipulate stock prices. ITG must trade within those boundaries at all times, Brantford Expositor reported.
At $5,500 per month, the fee is a fixed cost that Apogee pays regardless of how much trading ITG does. The monthly renewal structure gives Apogee flexibility. If the arrangement isn't working, the company can cancel with just 30 days' notice.
Unlike some contracts that have a gap between signing and starting, this deal kicked in on the same day it was announced — July 20, 2026, according to Daily Herald Tribune. ITG began trading APMI shares that day with no delay.
Apogee noted in its release that neither the company nor the TSXV accepts responsibility for the accuracy of the announcement. This is standard legal language required by the exchange for all news releases from listed companies, Northern News reported.
Hiring a market maker is a common step for small mining and exploration companies on the TSXV. Many of these firms have thin trading volumes. A market maker helps attract more investor attention by making the stock look active and accessible.
For Apogee, the move signals a push to grow its investor base as it advances its mineral exploration work, according to County Market. Greater share liquidity can make it easier for the company to raise money in the future through share sales.
