OnePlan's June 2026 Update Introduces Enhanced AI for Strategic Portfolio Management
OnePlan has launched its June 2026 platform update, bringing major upgrades to its Sofia AI assistant and executive dashboards for enterprise planning teams. The release also adds German-language support and expands Microsoft Copilot capabilities directly inside the OnePlan environment, according to PRNewswire.
The update arrives at a critical moment. Microsoft is retiring its legacy Project Online tool on September 30, 2026, pushing thousands of companies to find a replacement. OnePlan is one of Microsoft's recommended successors, and more than 500 companies worldwide already use its platform, Edmonton Sun reports.
Sofia AI Now Acts, Not Just Answers
The biggest change in this release is a shift in what Sofia AI can do. Earlier versions let users ask questions and get answers. The June 2026 update makes Sofia "agentic" — meaning it can now take actions, like building what-if scenarios or reallocating resources, without the user leaving the planning screen, according to OnePlan Support.
CEO Scott Hebert said the goal is smarter decisions, not just better data. "This release significantly advances that vision by expanding Sofia AI... helping organizations make better decisions and execute with greater confidence," Hebert said, as quoted by Montreal Gazette. Sofia now runs inside Microsoft Copilot's framework, connecting AI assistance to where teams already work.
Microsoft Project Online Retirement Drives Urgent Migrations
Microsoft announced the full retirement of Project Online in September 2025, with a hard shutdown date of September 30, 2026, Chatham Daily News reports. This has created a massive wave of migrations. OnePlan positions itself as the bridge between simple tools like Microsoft Planner and the complex needs of a full project management office (PMO).
OnePlan has won Microsoft's Project and Portfolio Management Partner of the Year award five years in a row, from 2019 to 2023. Its platform starts at $25 per user per month. That history and pricing make it a strong candidate for companies scrambling to replace Project Online before the deadline.
German Support and New Dashboards Target Global Teams
The June release adds German as a supported language, alongside improvements to French and Spanish localization introduced earlier in February 2026, according to Calgary Herald. The push into German reflects OnePlan's interest in the DACH region — Germany, Austria, and Switzerland — where language-specific tools are often required for adoption.
New executive dashboard widgets give leadership faster views of portfolio health and resource status. The update also improves collaboration tools so teams can work together inside OnePlan without switching to separate apps. The business case for AI-powered planning is strong on paper. A PwC study adds that the top 20% of AI-adopting companies capture 75% of economic gains in their sectors, according to The Sudbury Star.
But adoption is not guaranteed. A 2026 Grant Thornton survey found that 0% of CIOs believe their workforce is fully ready to use agentic AI. Gartner Peer Insights users rate OnePlan at 4.5 out of 5, praising its Microsoft integration, but several reviews flag a steep learning curve for the advanced AI features.
