Thompson & Morgan Cordless Garden Shears Drop to £22.50 in Yimbly Double Discount Sale

A double discount on the Thompson & Morgan 3.6V Cordless Trimming Shears has pushed the price down to just £22.50 at Yimbly's online store. The shears were already cut from £39.99 to £24.99 in the summer sale. Apply the code SUMMER10 at checkout, and you save a further 10 per cent, according to Birmingham Mail.
The deal makes the shears cheaper than buying directly from the Thompson & Morgan website. Reviewers have called them a 'godsend', and they weigh just 0.8kg — roughly the same as a loaf of bread. Cornwall Live confirms the SUMMER10 code works across Yimbly's garden range.
Yimbly first slashed the shears from their original £39.99 price tag to £24.99 as part of a summer sale. That alone is a £15 saving. But shoppers can go further. Typing SUMMER10 at checkout takes off another 10 per cent, bringing the final price to £22.50, according to Chronicle Live.
That final price undercuts rivals. Leicester Mercury notes the shears are also sold on Amazon, but the Yimbly double discount makes them harder to beat on price right now. The offer applies online only.
The shears run on a 3.6V lithium-ion battery with a 1,300mAh capacity. They deliver up to 40 minutes of continuous use on a full charge. Charging takes between three and five hours, according to Devon Live.
The tool comes with two interchangeable blades. An 80mm blade handles grass. A 115mm blade tackles shrubs. The maximum cutting diameter is 8mm. At just 800g, the shears are aimed squarely at gardeners who struggle with heavier tools. One verified buyer, identified as 'Ann K.', called them a 'godsend', citing the ease of use for hands affected by arthritis, reports My London.
The deal has been reported simultaneously across more than a dozen regional news sites. All of them are owned by Reach PLC, the UK's largest commercial news publisher. Reach also owns Yimbly, the marketplace selling the shears. The coordinated rollout across outlets like Daily Post and Coventry Telegraph is a strategy known as content-to-commerce.
By sending readers from its own news sites directly to its own shop, Reach avoids paying external marketing costs. The 'SUMMER10' code also lets the company track which regions convert into buyers. Reach surpassed 16.5 million registered users by early 2025, using deals like this one to turn anonymous readers into known customers.
Specialists caution that 3.6V tools are not built for heavy garden work. BBC Gardeners World Magazine classifies them as 'light-duty', suited for soft greenery rather than woody stems. For anything tougher, professional-grade 18V or 36V models are recommended.
Independent reviews tell a mixed story too. Verified buyers on Trustpilot give the 'Garden Gear' variant — the Thompson & Morgan branded version — an average of just 3 out of 5 stars. Common complaints focus on delivery delays of over two weeks and difficulties getting refunds on faulty units, according to Devon Live. At £22.50, buyers should weigh the low price against those reported service issues.
