Life Sciences BC Recognizes 2026 Award Winners for Advancing BC Health Innovation
Life Sciences BC (LSBC) has named Kardium, NervGen, and Xenon among the winners of its 28th Annual Life Sciences BC Awards, announced June 18, 2026 Business Wire. BC Life Sciences Has Grown to 27,000 Jobs and $3.3 Billion in Capital
The awards come as B.C.'s life sciences sector posts record numbers. The industry supported roughly 27,000 jobs by 2024 and attracted $3.3 billion in capital during 2020–2021 alone, according to BC Stats and the Province of British Columbia. The number of life sciences businesses jumped 26.5% between 2018 and 2021.
B.C. now holds the top spot in Canada for life sciences startup growth, driven partly by the 2023 provincial biomanufacturing strategy Province of British Columbia. Analysts at BDO USA say 2026 is a year of momentum industry-wide, with recent interest rate cuts making early-stage venture capital more attractive again.
