Brookfield Renewable Issues C$750 Million in Green Bonds for Strategic Investments

Brookfield Renewable, a major renewable energy company, is raising C$750 million through two new green bond offerings Reuters. The company will issue C$400 million in notes due in 2036 and C$350 million due in 2031, with proceeds funding renewable energy investments and debt repayment Reuters.
The Series 21 Notes total C$400 million and mature on August 13, 2036 Montreal Gazette. The Series 22 Notes total C$350 million and mature on August 14, 2031 Montreal Gazette. Both are medium-term notes classified as green bonds under Brookfield Renewable's financing framework.
RBC Capital Markets, BMO Capital Markets, and Scotiabank lead the syndicate of agents managing the offering Leader-Post. CIBC Capital Markets, National Bank Capital Markets, and TD Securities also participate Leader-Post. These major Canadian banks manage the sale process and distribution to investors.
The company will use net proceeds to fund Eligible Investments under its 2024 Green Financing Framework Toronto Sun. This includes renewable energy projects and repayment of existing debt taken on for similar purposes Toronto Sun. Green bonds direct capital specifically toward environmental projects.
