XA Investments President Urges Shareholder Approval for King Street Sub-Advisory Agreement

XA Investments President Kimberly Flynn held a shareholder webinar urging investors to vote "FOR" the King Street Sub-Advisory Agreement at a Special Meeting set for July 30, 2026, according to GlobeNewswire. The agreement would bring King Street Capital Management — a global firm managing $30 billion in assets — on board as a sub-adviser to the XAI Floating Rate & Alternative Income Trust (XFLT).
XFLT is asking shareholders to vote using the WHITE proxy card. The Board believes the King Street partnership could directly benefit fund investors in several concrete ways, Barchart reported.
The XFLT Board outlined three key reasons it supports the King Street deal. First, the partnership could lead to a potential increase in distributions — meaning investors may receive larger regular payouts. Second, the Board expects improved fund performance over time, according to GlobeNewswire.
Third, King Street brings what the Board calls "rigorous research and credit analysis" and "tactical trading capabilities." In plain terms, King Street's team would closely study bond and loan markets and move quickly when opportunities arise, ADVFN reported.
King Street Capital Management is a global alternative investment firm. It manages $30 billion across both public and private markets. That scale gives it access to deals and data that smaller firms may not reach, according to UK MarketScreener.
King Street would serve as a wholly owned subsidiary partner under the new agreement. XFLT specializes in floating rate loans and alternative income — assets that shift in value as interest rates change. Adding a $30 billion manager to that strategy is a significant move for a closed-end fund like XFLT.
The Special Meeting of Shareholders is scheduled for July 30, 2026. The fund is asking all shareholders to cast their vote using the WHITE proxy card specifically in support of the King Street Sub-Advisory Agreement, ADVFN reported.
XA Investments LLC (XAI) manages XFLT and hosted the informational webinar to walk shareholders through the deal before they vote. The webinar format signals that XAI wants investors to feel informed — not surprised — before the meeting, according to Barchart.
XFLT focuses on floating rate loans and alternative income streams. These assets pay more when interest rates are high and less when rates fall. Bringing in a sub-adviser with $30 billion in experience navigating those swings could give the fund an edge, according to GlobeNewswire.
If shareholders approve the deal, King Street's credit analysis team would work alongside XAI on investment decisions. The Board believes this added layer of expertise is the right move for long-term fund health. Shareholders will make the final call on July 30, UK MarketScreener reported.
