GTT Communications Secures Top 10 Spot on Prestigious 2026 Global MSP 501 List
GTT Communications has landed in the top 10 of the 2026 MSP 501 list, the most prestigious global ranking of managed service providers. The company came in at #10, according to Channel Futures, which publishes the list each year to identify the highest-performing IT providers in the world.
The ranking marks a major comeback for GTT. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2021 and was delisted from the NYSE in 2020. Today, it serves customers in 170+ countries across 140,000+ locations, according to GTT Communications.
GTT Climbs From Bankruptcy to Global Top 10
GTT's path to the top 10 is a turnaround story. The company delisted from the NYSE in 2020 after failing to file financial results on time. It entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2021, according to Hanna Herald. It emerged as a private company backed by equity firms including Allianz and Managed Asset Portfolios.
Since then, GTT shifted from aggressive acquisitions to what it calls "Operational Excellence." CEO Ed Morche, appointed in October 2023, built the "One of One" strategy around AI-powered networking. He said the goal is to help "enterprises run their digital infrastructure at global scale."
A 700-Terabit Backbone Powers the Ranking
The 2026 MSP 501 judges weigh recurring revenue, innovation, and long-term financial health. This year's honorees averaged $32 million in revenue, with nearly 60% coming from recurring sources, according to Edmonton Sun. GTT's infrastructure now carries 700+ terabits of capacity, making it the third-largest global internet backbone as ranked by CAIDA.
GTT's GTT Envision platform, launched in 2024, ties together security and networking through a single digital gateway. Gartner Peer Insights users gave it 4.0 stars in May 2026, noting that "centralized platform improves tracking" and "workflow automation strengthens operational efficiency."
GTT Lands at #10, Just Behind Zayo and Thrive
The top of the 2026 MSP 501 list is led by Zayo Group at #1, followed by TPx at #2, Abacus at #3, Expedient at #4, and New Era at #5, according to Northern News. Thrive holds the #7 spot. GTT sits at #10, its highest placement since restructuring.
Kelly Danziger, General Manager of Channel Partners, called the 2026 list one of the most competitive in the program's 19-year history. Providers had to prove "long-term health and viability" to qualify. Joan Logan, GTT's President of Americas, said the result "reflects the strength of our execution and the trust our customers and partners place in GTT."
What Comes Next for GTT in Late 2026
GTT plans to launch "EnvisionDX" upgrades later this year. The new tools will add zero-touch provisioning through what the company calls "agentic web experiences," according to The Observer. The goal is to let clients set up and manage networks with little to no manual work.
All 2026 MSP 501 winners will be honored at an awards gala on September 30 in Orlando, Florida. Analysts say GTT's top 10 status will likely influence multinational companies when they choose networking vendors in the second half of 2026. The company employs roughly 2,200 people and holds an EcoVadis Silver Medal for sustainability, placing it in the top 15% of companies globally.
