Dos jóvenes rescatados tras sufrir síntomas de ahogamiento en la balsa de La Morea

Two young people—a 25-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man—were rescued from La Morea reservoir in Beriáin, Navarra, on Friday afternoon showing signs of drowning. Spanish Regional Media reported the rescue occurred around 5:28 p.m. after swimmers noticed them in distress. Both victims were transported to a hospital and are in reserved condition, meaning their health status remains uncertain.
Beachgoers at the reservoir acted quickly when they spotted the two victims in the water. One swimmer pulled the 20-year-old man out of the water himself. Firefighters then retrieved the 25-year-old woman from the reservoir, according to Regional News Sources. The rapid response likely prevented a worse outcome.
After rescue, both young people showed clear signs of drowning and were immediately taken to a medical facility for treatment. Emergency Services confirmed they are in reserved condition—a medical term meaning their situation is serious and uncertain. No updates have been released yet on their current status or prognosis.
The emergency was coordinated by SOS Navarra, the regional crisis management agency. They received the alert and dispatched rescue personnel to the reservoir location. The quick mobilization of both civilian swimmers and professional firefighters helped ensure both victims received immediate care and transport to hospital.
