Detectives Investigate Unexplained Deaths of Two Men in Glasgow Flat

Police have assigned incident number 1386 to the Sunday evening deaths in Chancellor Street, Partick, and are urging anyone with information to contact Police Scotland on 101 citing incident 1386.
Forensic officers were present at the scene and parts of Chancellor Street were taped off as investigators work to establish the full circumstances, with the Byres Road junction area affected in Partick.
Detective Chief Inspector Jen McCulloch stated, 'Our thoughts remain with the families of the two men who have died, and they are being supported at this difficult time,' and emphasised that authorities are 'working hard to establish the full circumstances of what has happened.'
Two men aged 50 and 54 were found dead inside a flat on Chancellor Street in Partick, Glasgow, on Sunday afternoon. Police were called to the property at around 4.40pm and pronounced both men dead at the scene, according to Herald Scotland.
Police Scotland are treating the deaths as unexplained. Post-mortem examinations are planned to establish how the men died. Detectives say major enquiries are now under way.
Forensic officers moved quickly to the scene after the alarm was raised. Parts of Chancellor Street were taped off, with the area near the Byres Road junction affected, Seaside Radio reported. Investigators worked to preserve the scene and gather evidence.
Police Scotland assigned the case incident number 1386. Officers remained at the location as the investigation continued into the evening. The taped-off area caused disruption to the surrounding streets in the Partick neighbourhood.
Detective Chief Inspector Jen McCulloch led the public response to the deaths. She said: "Our thoughts remain with the families of the two men who have died, and they are being supported at this difficult time." Support has been offered to those affected, according to Radio Royal.
McCulloch added that officers are "working hard to establish the full circumstances of what has happened." She confirmed that police will stay in the area as the inquiry moves forward. Both families were informed before the public announcement was made.
Police have not described the deaths as suspicious but are not ruling anything out. The term "unexplained" means the cause of death has not yet been confirmed. Post-mortem examinations will be carried out to give a clearer picture, Herald Scotland reported.
Both men were found with serious injuries inside the flat. Detectives have not yet said what kind of injuries these were. Results from the post-mortem examinations are expected to guide the direction of the investigation.
Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch. Police Scotland can be contacted on 101, with callers asked to quote incident number 1386. Even small details could be important to the inquiry, officers say, according to Seaside Radio.
DCI McCulloch said officers would remain visible in the Partick area to reassure the local community. The investigation is at an early stage. Authorities say extensive enquiries are already under way to piece together the full circumstances of the two men's deaths.
