BTS Transforms New York City with Immersive Arirang Festival Ahead of MetLife Concerts

Grand Central Terminal handles about 750,000 visitors daily, illustrating the scale and potential audience reach of The City Arirang New York activation.
A citywide Stamp Rally will be part of The City Arirang New York, with stops at Bank of Hope and Art Museum New York.
Arte Museum New York is among the venues hosting experiences as part of The City Arirang New York.
The ARMY MADANG experience will include ARMY BOMB light sticks customization in addition to displays of Wembley 2019 outfits and T-shirt customization.
There are conflicting start dates reported for the event: some outlets list July 24–August 3, while others report July 30–August 3.
BTS is taking over New York City this summer with an immersive citywide experience called "BTS The City Arirang New York," running from July 24 to August 3, according to Billboard. The event coincides with the group's ARIRANG World Tour concerts at MetLife Stadium on August 1 and 2.
The activation will transform key landmarks — including Grand Central Terminal, which sees roughly 750,000 visitors daily — into ARIRANG-themed spaces, according to Korea JoongAng Daily. Red BTS posters will appear throughout subway stations across the city.
The centerpiece of the event is Vanderbilt Hall inside Grand Central Terminal. Fans can visit the ARMY MADANG experience there, according to Korea JoongAng Daily. It will display BTS's iconic Wembley 2019 tour outfits and let fans customize their own T-shirts and ARMY BOMB light sticks.
The scale is hard to miss. Grand Central alone draws 750,000 people on a typical day, according to Streamline Feed. That gives the ARIRANG activation a built-in audience far beyond the usual K-pop fan base.
The Korean Cultural Center New York will host additional experiential zones and brand booths. Partners include skincare brand TIRTIR, bakery chain Tous les Jours, and photo booth company Photoism, according to The Music Universe. Fans can also create custom smart device stickers at the event.
Local businesses are joining in too. Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer and KIM'S KIMBAP are among the New York spots teaming up with BTS for the activation, according to Streamline Feed. Arte Museum New York is also on the venue list.
A citywide Stamp Rally will send fans to stops including Bank of Hope and Arte Museum New York, according to Billboard. Welcome parties and dance events are also planned as part of the broader fan program throughout the 11-day run.
This follows BTS's proven "The City" model. HYBE has previously run similar takeovers in Seoul, Las Vegas, Busan, and London, according to Billboard. The New York edition is the largest yet, stretching across multiple boroughs and dozens of partner locations.
Not all details are locked down. Some outlets, including Billboard, report the event starts July 24. Others peg the start date as July 30, according to Anti Music. HYBE has not publicly resolved the conflict as of the latest reports.
The end date of August 3 is consistent across all sources. That wraps up just one day after the second MetLife Stadium concert on August 2. Fans are advised to check official HYBE channels before making travel plans.
