GreenTech Reports Record Copper Hit at Whundo

The Ayshia deposit currently has a mineral resource estimate of 0.9 million tonnes at 1.3% copper and 2.3% zinc, while the broader Whundo project’s estimate is 6.2 million tonnes at 1.12% copper and 1.04% zinc.
The new intercept lies within a broader 6.85-metre zone of chalcopyrite-rich massive to semi-massive sulphides containing pyrite, pyrrhotite and minor sphalerite, consistent with Ayshia’s polymetallic volcanogenic massive-sulphide character.
The result extends mineralisation roughly 40 metres beyond GreenTech’s 2024 drill hole 24GTRC004 and about 95 metres beyond an earlier historical drill hole, adding further scale to the down-plunge extension.
GreenTech said drilling has also been completed at the Yannery and Austin prospects, with assay results expected in October 2026, providing additional near-term exploration catalysts beyond Ayshia.
GreenTech CEO James Rattenbury said the broader Whundo mineralised trend remains open along strike and that several deposits remain open at depth, prompting assessment of follow-up drilling to test the system’s continuation and geometry.
GreenTech Metals struck high-grade copper at its Whundo project in Western Australia, posting a diamond-drill intercept of 4.76 meters grading 7.13% copper at the Ayshia deposit Stockhead. The result includes a core section of 3.44 meters running 9.43% copper, plus 1.20% zinc, 0.88 grams per tonne gold, and 29.6 grams per tonne silver. The hit extends mineralization roughly 65 meters beyond the existing resource boundary, signaling the deposit remains open at depth.
The discovery could unlock resource growth at Whundo and strengthen the case for deeper drilling. GreenTech plans downhole electromagnetic surveys and an updated mineral-resource estimate. Alien Metals, which owns roughly 10% of GreenTech and holds a 30% free-carried stake in the adjacent Munni Munni project, could benefit from the expansion Stockhead.
The Ayshia deposit's current mineral resource sits at 0.9 million tonnes at 1.3% copper and 2.3% zinc Stockhead. The broader Whundo project carries 6.2 million tonnes at 1.12% copper and 1.04% zinc. The new intercept significantly outpaces these baseline grades, suggesting the zone deepens and strengthens below existing resource models.
The drill hole intercepted a 6.85-meter zone of chalcopyrite-rich massive to semi-massive sulphides containing pyrite, pyrrhotite, and minor sphalerite Stockhead. This composition matches Ayshia's polymetallic volcanogenic massive-sulphide character. The mineralization extends roughly 40 meters beyond GreenTech's 2024 hole 24GTRC004 and about 95 meters past an earlier historical hole, amplifying the system's scale.
GreenTech CEO James Rattenbury emphasized that the broader Whundo mineralized trend stays open along strike, with several deposits remaining open at depth Stockhead. The company is assessing follow-up drilling to test the system's continuation and geometry. This opens the door to discovering additional high-grade zones in the surrounding area.
Drilling has wrapped at the Yannery and Austin prospects, with assay results due in October 2026 Stockhead. These results should provide near-term catalysts beyond Ayshia, keeping investor attention on the Whundo district's exploration pipeline through the coming year.
