LNG Canada Phase 2

LNG Canada approves Phase 2 expansion, doubling production capacity to 28 million tonnes.

LNG Canada's joint venture partners have approved the Phase 2 expansion of their Kitimat, B.C., LNG facility, doubling its production capacity from 14 million to 28 million tonnes per year. The expansion will add two LNG processing trains and include additional storage, a loading berth, and expanded infrastructure. LNG Canada estimates the project could create up to 4,000 construction jobs and generate over $50 billion in government revenues over its lifetime. The project also includes an Indigenous equity option involving an investment of up to $1 billion by economic development organizations representing five First Nations. Lng Canada's partners are Shell, PETRONAS, Mitsubishi Corporation, PetroChina and KOGAS.
