Asian shares and bonds rally as markets await crucial Federal Reserve rate signals.

Shares and bonds in Asia have rallied as investors await fresh U.S. data and central banker comments to determine whether the Federal Reserve will tighten policy. Japanese government bond yields have dropped from historic peaks, following a recovery in Treasuries overnight. The focus is on Friday's U.K. payrolls report, which follows disappointing private labour data for August. Concerns over renewed military strikes between the U.N. and Iran have also raised concerns about tighter monetary policy and deteriorating fiscal conditions. The dollar index fell 0.05% to 99.54, while the yen strengthened 0.07% to 158.59 per dollar. Investors also remained on edge over developments in the Middle East, following their largest barrage of attacks since July.
