Xbox Game Pass Unveils Major July and August Additions, Including Halo: Campaign Evolved and Beast of Reincarnation

Shift at Midnight will make its day-one Game Pass debut on July 22 across Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, as part of Wave 2’s lineup.
Halo: Campaign Evolved enhances the classic campaign with four-player online co-op, three new Prologue missions, dozens of new Skulls, and Campaign Remix, and is slated to launch on Game Pass later in July (date varies by report).
Beast of Reincarnation, published by Game Freak, is a Day One title on August 4 for Game Pass (across cloud, Series X|S, handheld, and PC) described as a one-person, one-dog adventure blending real-time and turn-based combat.
Corsair Cove, a Limbic Entertainment pirate-themed city-builder, arrives July 31 on Game Pass.
Heretic + Hexen are previewed for August 4 as part of Wave 2, with availability noted on Game Pass Premium and alongside Ultimate and PC Game Pass offerings.
Xbox Game Pass is adding two high-profile titles in late July and early August: Halo: Campaign Evolved and Beast of Reincarnation. The announcements are part of Wave 2 for July 2026, which Altchar described as one of the stronger Game Pass lineups in recent memory.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is a faithful remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved. It brings four-player online co-op, three new Prologue missions, dozens of new Skulls, and a new Campaign Remix mode. Beast of Reincarnation, published by Game Freak, arrives August 4 as a day-one Game Pass title.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is not just a graphical upgrade. According to OpenCritic, the remake adds four-player online co-op to the classic campaign — something the original never had. Three new Prologue missions expand the story. Dozens of new Skulls give players extra challenge options.
The new Campaign Remix mode lets players experience missions in a different order. Vice noted the title is set to land on Game Pass in late July. Microsoft has not locked in a single confirmed date across all reports, but it is slated as a day-one release on the service.
Beast of Reincarnation arrives on August 4 as a day-one Game Pass title. It is available across cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld, and PC. Vice called it a standout surprise for subscribers, as Game Freak — best known for Pokémon — rarely publishes outside Nintendo platforms.
The game is described as a one-person, one-dog adventure. It blends real-time and turn-based combat. The Gamer reported that the day-one inclusion on Game Pass is seen as a major value boost for Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers.
Hell Is Us lands on July 23 for cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It is an action-RPG and one of the bigger third-party additions to the lineup. AS confirmed it is available under Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Premium tiers.
Shift at Midnight, an online co-op detective game, makes its day-one debut on July 22. Mistfall Hunter, a dark fantasy action-RPG, also joins in Wave 2. Corsair Cove, a pirate-themed city-builder from Limbic Entertainment, arrives July 31.
Wave 2 also previews what is coming in August. Heretic + Hexen are set for August 4 on Game Pass Premium, alongside Ultimate and PC Game Pass offerings. OpenCritic noted that Microsoft is using these previews to keep subscribers engaged between monthly drops.
The wave strategy also includes game removals at the end of July. Microsoft has not yet published the full removal list. The Gamer noted that despite Game Pass's higher price point, the July and August day-one slate is designed to reinforce the service's value to subscribers.
