UK Airports Resume Operations After NATS Fault Triggers Major Flight Cancellations

UK airports have resumed operations following an air traffic outage that disrupted some departing flights at major British airports on Tuesday. The outage, which resulted in the cancellation of over 1,000 flights and hundreds of thousands of passengers being left stranded, affected Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Stansted airports. The disruption has increased pressure on air traffic control provider NATS and its boss Martin ​Rolfe. Heathrow Airport advised passengers to check with their airline before arriving due to changes in schedules. Ryanair reported that around 150,000 of its passengers were affected by the outage, while British Airways reported it had cancelled or diverted 100 flights.
