Bitwise Launches Lighter Token ETP on Deutsche Börse Xetra for European Investors

Bitwise data showed that BLIT had 202,594 units outstanding on Sept. 23, backed by 1.01 million LIT, with assets under management of approximately $4.74 million. Each unit represented just under five LIT.
BLIT is legally structured as a fully asset-backed debt security, or exchange-traded note, rather than a fund with ring-fenced assets. Its ISIN is DE000A4AV9T5 and its German securities code is A4AV9T.
Lighter has expanded beyond crypto perpetuals by offering markets linked to Apple, Amazon and Tesla shares, allowing users to obtain price exposure through perpetual contracts rather than owning the underlying stocks.
During a major crypto-market selloff in February, Lighter processed roughly $7.5 billion in perpetual-futures volume over 24 hours, representing close to 9.5% of the activity tracked across the decentralized derivatives sector.
On Sept. 23, 2026, LIT traded at about $5.15, up 8.7% on the day, while its market capitalization was approximately $1.29 billion and its fully diluted valuation was about $5.16 billion. The token remained roughly 34.5% below its Dec. 30, 2025, all-time high of $7.86.
Bitwise launched the Bitwise Lighter Staking ETP (ticker BLIT) on Deutsche Börse Xetra on September 23, giving European investors direct access to LIT, the native token of decentralized derivatives platform Lighter, through a standard brokerage account. Crypto Ninjas reported the product charges a 0.85% annual fee and is fully backed by 1.01 million LIT tokens held in cold storage, currently worth approximately $4.74 million in assets under management.
The launch expands Bitwise's European crypto offerings beyond major tokens like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Grafa noted BLIT tracks the Kaiko Lighter Reference Rate, though staking rewards have not yet begun, meaning investors currently get price exposure only. LIT surged 8.7% on launch day to trade near $5.15, though it remains 34.5% below its December 2025 all-time high of $7.86.
Lighter is an Ethereum-based platform for perpetual futures trading that charges zero fees for retail traders and uses zero-knowledge proof technology to verify transactions. Crypto News reported the platform competes with larger decentralized derivatives exchanges like Hyperliquid by offering a more user-friendly experience. Lighter has expanded beyond crypto to offer perpetual contracts tied to Apple, Amazon, and Tesla shares, letting users gain price exposure without owning the stocks themselves.
During February's major crypto selloff, Lighter processed roughly $7.5 billion in perpetual futures volume over 24 hours, capturing close to 9.5% of all decentralized derivatives activity that day. This growth shows the platform is gaining serious traction among traders seeking alternatives to centralized exchanges.
BLIT is legally structured as a fully asset-backed exchange-traded note (ETN), not a traditional fund with legally separate assets. Crypto News explained the product holds each unit backed by just under five LIT tokens. On launch day, BLIT had 202,594 units outstanding, with an ISIN of DE000A4AV9T5 and German securities code A4AV9T.
The $4.74 million in initial assets is tiny compared to LIT's $1.29 billion market cap, suggesting BLIT captured only a small slice of demand. This modest debut means the ETP has significant room to grow if European investors adopt it as their preferred way to hold LIT through traditional brokerages.
LIT's 580% rebound through 2025 and 2026 reflects growing confidence in Lighter's platform and zero-fee model for traders. Crypto News noted the September 23 launch came as LIT was already showing strong momentum, with the token rising 8.7% on the day BLIT listed. However, fully diluted supply remains a risk — at $5.16 billion valuation on a fully diluted basis, future token unlocks could create downward price pressure.
