China reports a 25 percent surge in August exports driven by strong tech and auto demand.

China's exports increased by 25% in August, largely due to strong demand for autos and high-tech goods, according to its customs agency. This comes ahead of a planned meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping, set for late September. Imports also increased by 28.2% in the same period, up from 27.5% in July. This led to a $119.1 billion trade surplus for China, widening from $112.5 billion in July to $119,000.
