Spinnaker Trust Bolsters Portfolio with Major SPDR S&P 500 ETF Investment, Others Follow

Spinnaker Trust disclosed multiple portfolio moves, including adding roughly $173.8 million to the State Street SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 ETF and making it its largest holding, while also taking a $12.5 million position in the iShares iBonds Dec 2028 Term Corporate ETF. The firm also increased its stake in the iShares U.S. Equity Factor Rotation Active ETF to about $35.2 million and bought smaller positions in Advanced Micro Devices and Palo Alto Networks valued at about $224,000 and $311,000, respectively. Several other institutions mirrored the activity, with Vanguard and State Street among the largest holders of AMD and Norges Bank adding to its stake. In the ETF names, other large investors such as Rebalance LLC, Captrust Financial Advisors, and JPMorgan Chase & Co. increased exposure to the 2028 corporate bond ETF. Overall, the filings highlight Spinnaker Trust’s mix of broad equity exposure, factor-based strategies, and targeted fixed-income duration, alongside selective bets in major technology and semiconductor companies.
Spinnaker Trust’s SPDR S&P 500 ETF bet was not only its largest holding by dollar amount, but it also represented 9.3% of the firm’s investment portfolio, and the firm owned 27.08% of the fund (after buying 2,166,677 shares worth about $173.81 million).
Other large holders of SPYM also added material new positions in the same quarter, including Greenleaf Trust (new stake worth about $438.34 million) and TD Private Client Wealth LLC (new stake worth about $394.48 million).
For AMD, the filings/news coverage also noted an executive sale: EVP Paul Darren Grasby sold 24,376 shares at an average price of $444.39 (about $10.83 million total) on May 8.
In Palo Alto Networks (PANW), institutional ownership was reported at 79.82%, and one mirrored buyer, Brighton Jones LLC, raised its stake by 147.7%—to 6,761 shares worth about $1.23 million.
In the iShares iBonds Dec 2028 Term Corporate ETF (IBDT), other institutions’ activity included very large percentage increases: Rebalance LLC boosted its stake by 86.3% (to 734,069 shares), while JPMorgan Chase & Co. increased exposure by 14,318.6% (to 194,651 shares).
