A dog in Maury County, Tennessee, was found severely injured after allegedly being tied to a truck bumper and dragged behind the vehicle, according to Maury County Animal Services. The dog was reportedly tied to the bumper and dragged after its leash broke when it could not keep pace with the moving truck.

Animal services received a tip about the injured dog and picked her up as an after-hours emergency. The agency's director and veterinarian provided immediate emergency care and pain management. The dog's owner has since been identified, though no charges have yet been announced in the case.
