Oktoberfest Celebrations Bring German Beer and Bavarian Food to Major Indian Cities

Oktoberfest celebrations in 2026 are bringing German-style beer, Bavarian food and festive events to venues across India, with local twists in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Kolkata. Bengaluru bars and breweries are pairing German-inspired dishes such as pretzels, schnitzel and bratwurst with Indian-influenced creations, while hotels in Hyderabad and Mumbai are hosting beer-and-food experiences with brunches, live music or waterfront dining. Kolkata’s Cal On is featuring three in-house German beer styles alongside classic dishes, tasting flights and beer-based cocktails. In western Massachusetts, a beer review highlights regional Märzen lagers from Abandoned Building Brewery and Berkshire Brewing as seasonal Oktoberfest options.
In Bengaluru, Plunge at the Sheraton Grand Whitefield is serving Hefeweizen, Dunkel and Belgian-style Witbier with Chicken Bratwurst, Lamb Merguez, spätzle, pretzels and sauerkraut; its event runs September 24 to October 4.
The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace’s October 4 brunch is set to include live German and Bavarian music, festive décor and interactive activities, in addition to the food and drinks.
Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach is offering a choice between an indoor dining space with curated music and an open-air section overlooking the Arabian Sea; menu items include truffle-and-cheese spätzle and beer-and-pretzel chocolate mousse.
Cal On’s Kolkata beer flight includes three 100 ml pours of its in-house Märzen, Hefeweizen and Munich Dunkel. Its cocktail menu also features Bier Teufel, made with beer or wheat beer, tequila, orange liqueur, lime and red chilli.
The western Massachusetts review describes Abandoned Building Brewery’s 5.8% Märzen as toasty and lightly caramelled, with subdued hops and a lighter colour than many traditional Oktoberfest beers.
