Former student arrested for attempted murder after crossbow attack at University of Surrey
Surrey Police said officers were called at about 10:00 BST to reports that a man was shot with a crossbow at Manor Park Student Village at the University of Surrey in Guildford. A man in his 50s was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police have arrested a 21-year-old former student, from Saudi Arabia, on suspicion of attempted murder and the suspect remains in custody. Investigators say a significant emergency services presence continued at the scene as they work with the university to establish what happened.
