Baker Hughes Secures Multi-Year Contract With Pakistan OGDC To Boost Mature Field Production

Baker Hughes Company (BKR) has secured a multi-year contract with Pakistan's Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDC) to enhance production performance from its mature oil and gas fields. The agreement allows Baker Hughes to assess over 120 wells across OGDC's Tando Alam oil complex and Pirkoh field to identify key challenges and provide tailored redevelopment plans. The company will also advance solutions such as AI-enabled chemical injections to improve flow assurance and high-grade well workovers to restore production from underperforming wells. The contract aligns with a trend of customers focusing on maximizing production from existing assets while maintaining flexibility to respond to evolving market conditions. Despite this, Baker Hughes' traditional Oilfield Services and Equipment business could continue to face pressure due to reduced upstream spending for a prolonged period.
