Buffalo Bills Wide Receiver D.J. Moore Faces Uncertain Status For Sunday

Buffalo Bills wide receiver D.J. Moore suffered an AC joint sprain in the second quarter of the team’s 41-31 Week 2 win over Detroit and was ruled out. The injury is considered not serious, and Moore is day-to-day; after being limited Wednesday, he missed Thursday’s practice, leaving his availability for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers uncertain. Friday’s practice is expected to provide a clearer indication of whether he can play. Moore has five catches for 100 yards and a touchdown in two games, and his absence could increase the roles of Keon Coleman, Joshua Palmer, the tight ends and running back James Cook. Coleman also missed Thursday’s practice with an ankle injury, while defensive tackle Ed Oliver returned to the field.
Moore told reporters Wednesday, “We’re going to be good,” but did not commit to playing Sunday; he declined to speak with The Athletic on Thursday because he was due for injury treatment.
The injury was not considered likely to require surgery or a stint on injured reserve.
Josh Allen had thrown for 582 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions through two games, while adding 92 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.
If Moore is unavailable, Dawson Knox was specifically identified as a player likely to see more targets, alongside James Cook and Khalil Shakir.
