Love Island bombshell George Knight unexpectedly leaves villa for undisclosed private reasons.

Love Island bombshell George Knight has left the ITV villa just hours after arriving at the start of the new series, with the show citing “private reasons” and saying it will not comment further out of duty of care. The 28-year-old professional footballer from Winchester reportedly exited before the latest filming, though he is still set to appear in that night’s episode. During his brief stint, Knight quickly formed connections—most notably with Robyn Langton, after making a move involving a potential bed in the hideaway—and shared a kiss with her. Alongside fellow bombshell Yasmin Hadlow, Knight also took part in a covert mission to dump two islanders within 24 hours, with Ellie Chadwick and Samraj Toor ultimately being targeted. With the series early on and already packed with twists and shocking eliminations, his abrupt departure has surprised both viewers and the cast.
During his short stint, George Knight suggested Robyn Langton share a bed with him in the Hideaway; she told him it was "ballsy" and that she "need[ed] to think about it"—before declining the offer, despite being coupled up with electrician Samuel Workman.
Presenter Maya Jama set up the bombshells’ task by telling viewers George and Yasmin’s role would "completely rock the villa" and that they would also determine which Islanders were first to depart in a dramatic elimination.
The episode structure around the secret mission included Knight and Yasmin being left to "decide which boy and girl they would dump" after their covert briefing, while a preview for the next episode showed the islanders sitting around the firepit in shock at the mission’s reveal.
After Ellie Chadwick and Samraj Toor were chosen for elimination, the show added a twist: rather than going to the airport, they were sent to the Hideaway—"in the Hideaway...the plot thickens."
