HgCapital Trust Commits £20 Million to Boost Nourish Care's AI-Powered Social Care Software

Nuno Almeida stated, 'I started Nourish after spending time with care teams, where I saw how much of a carer’s day went on admin rather than the people in their care... Everything we’ve built since then is centered on a belief that if you make care teams’ lives easier, you also improve the care that reaches each person they support.'
David Issott, a partner at Hg, said social and community care 'is some of the most important work in our society, and carers deserve the very best technology to support them in this work.'
Nourish is described as serving residential and home care providers across the UK and has built trust with many of the country’s leading care providers through a full suite of products and ongoing product innovation.
The deal is anticipated to close by the end of August 2026, aligning with Hg’s broader investment activity through the Hg Mercury Fund.
HgCapital Trust is putting roughly £20 million into Nourish Care, a Bournemouth-based software company that helps UK care homes and home care providers cut down on paperwork. Sharecast reported the investment comes through the Hg Mercury Fund, alongside other Hg clients. The deal is set to close by the end of August 2026.
Founder and CEO Nuno Almeida will stay in charge of Nourish. Livingbridge, an earlier backer, will keep a minority stake. According to Business Cloud, the investment will help Nourish speed up product development, including new AI-powered tools.
Almeida launched Nourish after spending time on the ground with care teams. He saw carers spending more of their day on paperwork than on the people they were looking after. "Everything we've built since then is centered on a belief that if you make care teams' lives easier, you also improve the care that reaches each person they support," he said.
Nourish now serves residential and home care providers across the UK. Caring Times described it as having built trust with many of the country's leading care providers through a full product suite and steady innovation. Its stated mission is to deliver "Better Care for Everyone."
Hg is best known for backing European and transatlantic software companies. This deal marks a push into the social care sector. David Issott, a partner at Hg, said social and community care "is some of the most important work in our society, and carers deserve the very best technology to support them in this work," according to Caring Times.
MarketScreener noted the £20 million commitment is HgCapital Trust's share of a larger deal. Co-investors will add more capital alongside HgT. Existing customer contracts and day-to-day operations at Nourish will stay the same.
The fresh capital will go toward speeding up product development. That includes AI-powered features built with support from Hg Catalyst, Hg's in-house technology team. The goal is to reduce admin even further and give care workers more time with the people they support.
Caring Times reported that Nourish's approach centers the person receiving care, not just the care provider. New digital tools are designed to make the whole care experience better — for both the carer and the individual being looked after.
After this investment, HgCapital Trust's outstanding commitments will sit at around £2.0 billion. That is roughly 84% of the group's estimated net asset value as of 30 June 2026. Sharecast reported the trust holds about £241 million in liquid resources available for future deals.
The transaction is expected to close by the end of August 2026. MarketScreener described HgCapital Trust as a London-based investment trust that gives investors access to private equity deals managed by Hg. This Nourish deal fits a wider pattern of Hg backing software businesses that serve large, underserved markets.
