United Airlines introduces daily flight service connecting Omaha and Newark starting September 24

United Airlines will launch a new daily nonstop flight between Omaha and Newark starting Sept. 24, according to Omaha World-Herald. The route connects Omaha's Eppley Airfield with Newark Liberty International Airport, giving travelers in the region a direct link to the New York metro area.
The new service adds a key East Coast option for Omaha fliers. Newark Liberty is one of the busiest airports in the country and serves as a major United Airlines hub, Fremont Tribune noted.
The flight kicks off Sept. 24, connecting Eppley Airfield directly to Newark. Travelers won't need a layover to reach the New York area. The route runs every day, making it a reliable option for both business and leisure travelers, Journal Star reported.
Newark Liberty sits just outside New York City and connects to trains, buses, and roads heading into Manhattan. For Omaha residents, this means faster, simpler access to one of the world's largest cities.
United already operates flights out of Eppley Airfield, but the Newark route marks a new direct connection to its main East Coast hub. Newark is United's largest hub on the East Coast. Adding a daily flight there strengthens the airline's grip on Omaha travelers, Kearney Hub reported.
The move signals growing demand for air travel out of Omaha. Airlines typically add routes when they see strong passenger numbers and business interest. A daily nonstop is a bigger commitment than a seasonal or limited flight.
Before this route, Omaha fliers headed to the New York area often had to book connecting flights through Chicago, Denver, or other hub cities. A nonstop to Newark cuts travel time significantly. It also removes the risk of missing a connection, Omaha World-Herald noted.
Newark also opens doors beyond New York. The airport offers connections to hundreds of destinations worldwide. For Omaha residents flying internationally, Newark can serve as a convenient jumping-off point, according to Fremont Tribune.
