Danhausen Faces JD McDonagh, Bella & Paige Defend Titles at Madison Square Garden Main Event

Brie Bella's singles match with Lainey Reid marked her first singles outing in eight years.
Brie Bella and Paige have been WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions since WrestleMania 42 Night 1.
Danhausen has a backup in New York and has indicated he will contact someone there ahead of SNME.
WWE plans to heavily promote SNME using Danhausen in advertising campaigns.
Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh trashed Danhausen’s lab on RAW, a development fueling the SNME grudge match.
WWE's Saturday Night's Main Event on July 18 at Madison Square Garden will feature Danhausen vs. JD McDonagh in a singles match, according to 411mania and Wrestling Attitude. The bout marks a major escalation in Danhausen's running feud with Judgment Day, bringing one of wrestling's most colorful personalities to one of sports entertainment's most storied stages.
The event streams on Peacock in the United States and on Netflix internationally, Khelnow confirmed. It marks the 45th edition of Saturday Night's Main Event and will draw from a New York crowd already familiar with Danhausen's local appeal.
The feud took a sharp turn on RAW when Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh broke into Danhausen's lab and trashed it, according to Wrestling Attitude. That act of destruction directly set up the SNME grudge match. Danhausen told Matt Cardona he is scheduled to face McDonagh one-on-one at MSG.
The tensions stretch back further. Danhausen previously cursed Liv Morgan before her Queen of the Ring match, and Morgan lost. That curse drew the ire of Judgment Day members, including McDonagh. The July 18 match gives Danhausen a chance to settle the score on a massive stage.
Danhausen has a personal connection to New York, and WWE plans to use it. He has indicated he will reach out to a contact in the city ahead of SNME. WWE also plans to feature him heavily in advertising campaigns promoting the event, according to 411mania.
Danhausen previously made headlines for "uncursing" the New York Knicks, a stunt that built real goodwill with New York fans. That backstory gives him a built-in fan base at MSG, one of the loudest arenas in the country.
WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Brie Bella and Paige will defend their titles against Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid of Fatal Influence at SNME, according to PWMania. Bella and Paige have held the titles since WrestleMania 42 Night 1, making this one of their highest-profile defenses since winning the belts.
The match has a clear setup. Lainey Reid defeated Brie Bella in a singles match on SmackDown — Brie's first singles match in eight years — to help earn the title shot, Khelnow reported. That win gave Fatal Influence momentum heading into MSG.
The July 18 card is building around two anchor matches: the women's tag title defense and the Danhausen-McDonagh grudge bout. PWMania confirmed both matches as part of the current announced lineup. More matches are expected to be added in the weeks before the event.
WWE has not yet confirmed a full card, but the early lineup signals a night centered on title action and personal feuds. With MSG as the backdrop and Peacock and Netflix carrying the broadcast, the stakes are high for all involved.
