ADNOC establishes new global LNG platform, boosting flexibility and solidifying Abu Dhabi's energy hub status

ADNOC Trading will remain the counterparty for trading activities, with no change to existing customer interfaces.
ADNOC Logistics and Services (ADNOC L&S) has expanded its role to support the platform’s shipping and logistics capabilities.
Rashid Al Mazrouei has been appointed Chief Marketing & Origination Officer (LNG), overseeing the combined equity LNG portfolios of XRG and ADNOC Gas.
The platform is described as a unified global center in Abu Dhabi that consolidates ADNOC's marketing, trading and shipping into one hub.
ADNOC has launched a unified global LNG marketing and trading platform, consolidating operations from ADNOC Gas, XRG, and ADNOC Trading into a single hub based in Abu Dhabi Global Market, according to Reuters. The platform targets roughly 47 million tonnes per annum of marketable LNG by 2035, positioning Abu Dhabi as a top-tier global LNG center.
Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, ADNOC's managing director and group CEO, called the move "a step-change in scale and reliability of LNG supply" to meet rising global demand. The platform unites marketing, trading, and shipping under one roof for the first time, according to Economy Middle East.
Before this launch, ADNOC's LNG operations were split across three separate units. ADNOC Gas and XRG each ran their own marketing arms. ADNOC Trading handled the trading side. Now all three feed into one platform, according to Yahoo Finance.
ADNOC Trading will still act as the counterparty for all trading deals. Existing customers will see no change to how they interact with ADNOC. The goal is to add flexibility and scale — not to disrupt current relationships.
ADNOC has appointed Rashid Al Mazrouei as Chief Marketing and Origination Officer for LNG. He will oversee the combined equity LNG portfolios of both XRG and ADNOC Gas, according to Economy Middle East. He will also coordinate directly with ADNOC Trading on deal flow.
Shipping stays central to the platform's operations. ADNOC Logistics and Services, known as ADNOC L&S, has expanded its role to support the platform's shipping and logistics needs. That gives ADNOC more control over how and when cargoes move globally.
The 47 million tonnes per annum target by 2035 is a big jump from where ADNOC stands today. A key driver is Ruwais LNG, a major new project that will add significant export capacity. The platform is built partly to manage that growing volume, according to Reuters.
XRG, ADNOC's international gas and infrastructure arm, is also expanding abroad. The unified platform gives XRG a stronger commercial engine to support deals overseas. Together, Ruwais LNG and XRG's growth form the backbone of ADNOC's long-term LNG ambitions.
ADNOC has supplied LNG to global markets for over 50 years. This platform builds on that track record and puts Abu Dhabi at the center of a fast-growing trade, according to Economy Middle East. Global LNG demand is rising, driven by energy security concerns in Europe and Asia.
By hosting the platform in Abu Dhabi Global Market, a leading international financial center, ADNOC signals that the UAE wants to compete with Singapore and London as LNG trading hubs. The move puts real infrastructure behind that ambition.
