Marvell Technology Appoints Dan Durn as New CFO, Willem Meintjes to Transition by 2027

Marvell Technology has named Dan Durn as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective June 15, 2026, according to Business Wire. Durn, a 30-year semiconductor industry veteran, joins from Adobe Inc., where he served as EVP and CFO since October 2021.
Outgoing CFO Willem Meintjes, a 10-year Marvell veteran who built the company's finance organization from scratch, will stay on in an advisory role until April 2027 to ensure a smooth handover, Marvell Investor Relations confirmed.
Durn is no stranger to semiconductors. He has held the CFO role at GlobalFoundries, Freescale Semiconductor, NXP Semiconductors, and Applied Materials. That hardware-first resume stands in contrast to his most recent post at Adobe, a software company.
Marvell CEO Matt Murphy called the hire a natural fit. "Dan intimately knows Marvell and its long-term growth strategy," Murphy said, according to Business Wire. "He brings a level of industry-specific fluency that is rare." Durn also served on Marvell's Board of Directors since April 2024, giving him two years of inside knowledge before stepping into the CFO seat.
Adobe felt the loss almost immediately. Its shares fell roughly 6% in extended trading after Durn's departure was announced, according to Reuters. Adobe named Steve Day, previously SVP of Corporate Finance, as interim CFO.
The timing was notable. Adobe raised its annual revenue forecast to between $26.5 billion and $26.6 billion on the same day Durn's exit was announced. Investors still punished the stock, reflecting concern over losing a steady financial hand during Adobe's own push into AI.
Durn steps in at a remarkable moment. Marvell's stock has returned 271% over the past year, according to Market Screener. The company's valuation now sits near $245 billion. On June 2, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang called Marvell the "next trillion-dollar company" at the Computex trade show, sending shares up 25-30%.
Marvell is also joining the S&P 500 effective June 22, 2026, according to Market Screener. That will force passive index funds to buy the stock automatically, raising the profile of every financial report Durn signs off on. His first major task will be guiding the company through what Murphy calls "periods of significant growth."
Meintjes joined Marvell in 2016 and became CFO in January 2023. He is credited with building the finance organization from the ground up, according to Marvell Investor Relations. His planned exit follows a pattern of orderly leadership transitions at the company.
Meintjes sold roughly $700,960 in Marvell shares on May 15, 2026, under a pre-arranged trading plan. He had also sold about $4 million in shares in April 2024. Both sales were scheduled in advance. He will remain available to advise through April 2027 to help Durn get fully up to speed.
