REV Exploration Completes Advanced 3D Seismic Survey at Montana Helium Project

REV Exploration Corp. (REVX) has finished a 3D seismic survey at its West Butte Project in Toole County, Montana, according to Edmonton Sun. The project sits within a geologically continuous helium system — and has never been explored for hydrogen, adding a new layer of potential upside for the junior explorer.
The survey was completed with zero injuries and zero accidents across all field operations, Financial Post reported. Data from the West Butte site has already been delivered for processing and will soon be analyzed by the same expert team that reviewed a comparable 3D survey at MAX Power's Lawson Natural Hydrogen Discovery.
REV hired Tetra Tech to run the seismic program — the same firm that conducted a 3D survey at MAX Power's Lawson Natural Hydrogen Discovery, according to The Province. That connection matters. The data interpretation team is also the same group that analyzed the Lawson survey. Using a proven crew on a comparable geological setting gives investors a benchmark for what to expect from the results.
The choice of contractor signals that REV is treating West Butte as a serious exploration target. Tetra Tech has direct experience with both helium and natural hydrogen systems in similar geological settings, Cochrane Times Post noted. That expertise is now being applied to a project that, by REV's own description, has never been tested for hydrogen.
The survey used a mixed-source wireless node design to handle the project area's varied landscape, Stratford Beacon Herald reported. On flat, accessible ground, the team recorded 1,524 Vibroseis source points. Vibroseis is a method that uses a truck-mounted vibrating plate to send sound waves into the earth. It works well on gentle slopes but cannot reach steep terrain.
For the steep coulees and foothills where Vibroseis trucks could not go, the team used 269 dynamite shot points instead, according to Pincher Creek Echo. That combination — 1,524 Vibroseis points plus 269 dynamite shots — gave REV full coverage across a topographically diverse project area without sacrificing data quality in hard-to-reach zones.
West Butte sits within a continuous helium system, but REV has flagged that the area has never been explored for natural hydrogen, Chatham Daily News reported. Natural hydrogen — sometimes called gold hydrogen — is an emerging exploration target. Investors and explorers are racing to find underground deposits that could supply clean fuel without the cost of making hydrogen artificially.
The fact that the same 3D interpretation team is reviewing both the Lawson hydrogen discovery and the West Butte helium project suggests REV is positioning West Butte as a dual-commodity target, according to Mitchell Advocate. Results from the data processing and interpretation phase will determine whether REV moves toward drilling.
With field work wrapped up cleanly — no accidents, no injuries — REV now waits on the data processing and interpretation phase, Daily Herald Tribune reported. The same expert team that interpreted the Lawson 3D survey will handle West Butte. That analysis will map underground structures and help REV identify the best targets for a future drilling program.
REV also maintains active communication with landowners and local communities in the project area, Financial Post noted. A successful interpretation of the seismic data could set the stage for a drill decision, potentially making West Butte one of the more closely watched helium and natural hydrogen exploration stories in the northern U.S. Rockies.
