Hollywood Actor Sung Kang Explores MotoGP World with VR46 Racing Team in Italy

Hollywood actor Sung Kang, best known for his role as Han in the Fast & Furious franchise, has visited Tavullia, Italy, as a guest of MotoGP team Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team and its sponsor 12B SPORTS, according to Montreal Gazette. The trip gave Kang a behind-the-scenes look at one of motorsport's top racing outfits.
Kang toured the team's facilities, met with engineers and technicians, and joined riders Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli for lunch at the local Bar Pizzeria da Rossi, The Province reported. Tavullia is the hometown of VR46 founder Valentino Rossi and remains the cultural heart of the team.
During his visit, Kang was welcomed into the inner workings of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, according to Toronto Sun. He met the engineers and technicians who build and maintain the team's MotoGP bikes. Few outside the sport get this level of access.
The visit also included a sit-down lunch with riders Di Giannantonio and Morbidelli, Leader Post reported. Both riders currently compete in MotoGP, the top tier of motorcycle road racing. The casual meal gave Kang a chance to connect with the athletes face to face.
12B SPORTS is an official sponsor of the VR46 Racing Team. The company helped arrange Kang's visit as part of a shared effort to bring new audiences to MotoGP, Clinton News Record reported. Pairing a global film star with a top racing team is a clear play to grow the sport's fan base.
Sung Kang is widely recognized for his long-running role in the Fast & Furious film series, a franchise built around car culture and motorsport. His personal interest in cars and racing makes him a natural fit for this kind of partnership, Owen Sound Sun Times noted.
Tavullia is a small town in northern Italy. It is the birthplace of nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi, who founded the VR46 Racing Team. The team's culture, identity, and roots are all tied to this town, Seaforth Huron Expositor reported.
Bringing Kang to Tavullia was a deliberate choice. It allowed him to see not just the team's equipment, but the culture behind it. The town itself is a living symbol of what VR46 stands for, according to Shoreline Beacon.
Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli are the two riders currently representing Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team in MotoGP. Both compete on Ducati machinery. The team competes against the world's best riders across a grueling global race calendar, Brantford Expositor reported.
The team's partnership with 12B SPORTS reflects a broader trend in MotoGP: racing outfits are increasingly turning to entertainment and lifestyle brands to expand their global presence. Bringing in a name like Sung Kang puts the team in front of millions of new potential fans, Cold Lake Sun noted.
