Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce is expected to play in Week 1.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce is expected to play in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens after missing most of the summer due to ankle surgery. The Colts coach Shane Steichen stated that Pierce is feeling good and should be fit to play. Pierce had surgery on his left ankle in March and only returned to practice on Aug. 27 after not participating in a preseason game. This was only Pierce's fifth practice since being cleared. This marks his fifth NFL season as the Colts' No. 1 wideout, where he set career highs of 47 receptions and 1,003 yards last year, and has amassed a career-high of 157 catches for 2,934 yards and 17 touchdowns in 64 games.
