Casio Introduces G-SHOCK Virtual Watches and Skateboarding World on Roblox for Young Gamers

Casio is bringing its iconic G-SHOCK watch brand into the virtual world. The company announced it will launch new content on Roblox, the popular gaming platform used by hundreds of millions of players, many of them teens and young adults, according to National Post.
The move is part of a project called VIRTUAL G-SHOCK. Casio will offer 12 digital watch items, each available in six color variations, as wearable avatar accessories inside the game, Montreal Gazette reported.
Each of the 12 virtual G-SHOCK watch items is modeled after a real iconic timepiece from Casio's lineup. Players can equip them on their Roblox avatars. The watches do more than just look good — they come with a special utility feature that triggers visual effects when worn, according to Stratford Beacon Herald.
With 12 watch models and 6 color options each, players have 72 possible combinations to choose from. That range gives young fans a way to express their personal style inside the game while connecting with the G-SHOCK brand.
Casio will also open a dedicated game world on Roblox built around skateboarding. The experience is based on the "obby" format — a Roblox term for obstacle course games — and is called Robloud, PR Record Gazette reported. Players race through challenges in a world styled around the G-SHOCK brand.
Obby games are among the most popular formats on Roblox. By building one, Casio taps into a game style that younger users already love. It gives the brand a way to connect through play, not just through product placement.
Roblox is especially popular among users under 25. The platform has more than 80 million daily active users worldwide. Casio's move onto Roblox is a clear push to get the G-SHOCK brand in front of younger consumers who spend time in virtual spaces, National Post noted.
The VIRTUAL G-SHOCK project is part of a broader trend. Major brands from Nike to Gucci have launched virtual goods on gaming platforms in recent years. Casio joins that wave by meeting young people where they already are — inside the game.
G-SHOCK has built its reputation on tough, durable watches since 1983. The brand is known for bold designs and a connection to youth culture, including skateboarding, street fashion, and music. Bringing that identity into Roblox fits naturally with those roots, according to Whitecourt Star.
By offering free or accessible virtual items, Casio lowers the barrier for young people to engage with the brand. A teen who cannot afford a real G-SHOCK can still wear one on their avatar. That kind of early connection can build brand loyalty for years to come.
