Victor High School's girls lacrosse team won its fifth consecutive New York State Class B title on June 13, defeating Garden City (Section VIII) 13-5 at SUNY Cortland's Grady Field. Senior Lila Kubrich, a Yale University commit, played in all five state championship games — starting as an eighth-grader in 2022. That makes her one of the most decorated individual players in Section V lacrosse history, according to Record Online. She posted 169 draw controls, 43 ground balls, and 52 points in 2026 alone.
By appearing in five straight title-game victories, Kubrich ties the estimated statewide record for state championship rings held by a single student-athlete. Her classmates Adrid and Fitzsimmons also close out their careers with five rings each, leaving a massive hole to fill in 2027.
A Dynasty Built on Depth, Recruiting, and Tough Sectionals
Victor's path to a fifth title was not easy. The Blue Devils entered sectionals as the No. 2 seed behind Pittsford. They survived a 9-8 overtime win over Irondequoit and a double-overtime thriller against Pittsford before reaching states, according to Times Herald. They then beat Orchard Park 20-5, Fayetteville-Manlius 16-8, and Queensbury 17-8 in the semifinals.

Victor was not the only Section V team to win a state title on June 13. Penfield High School also captured a Class A championship the same day, completing what Rochester-area outlets called a "Section V Sweep" over Long Island programs, according to Utica OD.
Victor returned home to a fire truck escort and a community celebration. New York State Senator Pam Helming and Assemblywoman Andrea Bailey have previously issued official proclamations honoring the team. Local officials are already planning for permanent signage to mark the five-peat. Kimberly Colucci of Garden City captured the spirit of the loss simply: "I'm grateful to go out with this group."
