The Brick Announces Alphonso Davies Partnership, Hosts Exclusive Fan Meet & Greet.

Canadian furniture retailer The Brick has named soccer star Alphonso Davies as its newest brand ambassador, timed to coincide with the 2026 FIFA World Cup on home soil. The partnership kicked off with The Brick's Score Big Savings Event on June 18, and fans in West Vancouver can meet Davies in person at the Park Royal location on June 20, GlobeNewswire reported.
The event includes a one-hour autograph session from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Shoppers who spend $499 or more on furniture or mattresses will receive a $50 gift card. Davies will also take part in media availability after the signing.
Alphonso Davies is Canada's biggest soccer name. He captains the Canadian Men's National Team and plays as a defender for Bayern Munich. He has over 11 million combined followers on TikTok and Instagram, according to Billboard Canada. This deal adds a major home retail brand to a portfolio that already includes BMO Financial Group and Red Bull.
The Brick President Darci Walker said the fit was clear. "Alphonso embodies the passion, perseverance and pride that resonate with our customers," Walker said. "We couldn't imagine a better ambassador to help promote our brand," according to GlobeNewswire. The Brick runs 220 retail stores across Canada and is a subsidiary of Leon's Furniture Limited.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup began June 11 across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico, according to Gowling WLG. Vancouver alone is hosting seven matches. Davies grew up in Vancouver and began his professional career with the Vancouver Whitecaps before moving to Bayern Munich in 2019. The Park Royal location sits directly in his home market.
Official FIFA sponsors are paying a record US$2.7 billion in total rights fees for the 2026 cycle, according to Canadian Business. The Brick is not an official FIFA partner. Instead, it is using Davies' personal brand — and phrases like "Score Big" — to stay clear of FIFA's strict trademark rules while still connecting to the tournament's excitement.
The meet and greet is capped at one hour. That strict time limit is by design. Getting fans physically into the store is a key goal for traditional retailers competing against online shopping, according to CBC News. A signed jersey or ball — and a selfie with Davies — gives shoppers a reason to show up in person.
The $50 gift card offer sweetens the deal. Shoppers must spend at least $499 on furniture or mattresses to qualify. The Brick's parent company, Leon's Furniture Limited, posted earnings-per-share growth of 20.4% in the quarter leading into 2026, according to GlobeNewswire. The Davies partnership aims to keep that momentum going through the summer.
Davies is a commercial success right now. But Goal.com and TSN have both noted that he has faced a string of hamstring and ACL injuries. Canadian head coach Jesse Marsch has raised concerns about whether Davies will be at full match fitness during the tournament. That uncertainty sits beneath the celebration of this partnership.
Davies himself has kept his public tone focused and optimistic. He said his goal for Canada at a home World Cup is to focus on "smaller victories" like getting points on the board, according to theScore. For The Brick, those same themes — persistence, pride, community — are exactly what the brand wants attached to its name this summer.
