Vultr Expands Next-Gen AI Infrastructure with AMD Instinct MI455X GPUs and Helios Solution.

Vultr, the world's largest privately held cloud infrastructure company, has announced it is among the first cloud providers to offer the AMD Instinct™ MI455X GPU, according to Financial Post. The company made the announcement at AMD Advancing AI, a major industry event. Pre-orders are now open for high-memory, rackscale-accelerated compute built for AI training, fine-tuning, and inference workloads.
The AMD Instinct MI455X is built on AMD's next-generation CDNA architecture. That means it is designed from the ground up for the most demanding AI and high-performance computing tasks. National Post reports that Vultr is now taking reservations for deployments running from 2027 through 2028.
The AMD Helios rackscale solution is a system that links many GPUs together into one powerful unit. Think of it like connecting dozens of engines to make one giant machine. Rackscale computing matters because modern AI models are getting too large for a single server. The Helios system lets many GPUs work as one. This makes it possible to train and run the biggest AI models faster and more efficiently than before.
Being among the first cloud providers to offer the MI455X is a major competitive move. Montreal Gazette notes that Vultr is already accepting reserved capacity orders. Customers can lock in access to the hardware ahead of the 2027 deployment window. That gives businesses time to plan large AI projects well in advance.
Reserved capacity means customers pay to hold a spot before the hardware is fully available. This is common for high-demand chips. It also signals strong market interest in next-generation AMD hardware as an alternative to Nvidia in the cloud AI space.
