4th of July Mattress Sales Deliver Big Savings on Top Brands Through Holiday Weekend

The 4th of July mattress sales are live, and experts say this is one of the best times to buy a new bed outside of Black Friday. Major brands like Saatva, DreamCloud, and Nectar are offering discounts as high as 60% off, plus free bedding bundles — levels of savings rarely seen at other points in the year, according to USA Today Network.
But buyer beware: not every deal is as good as it looks. Some brands offer the same discounts year-round, making the "holiday sale" label more marketing than reality. Here is what is actually worth your money this week.
DreamCloud and Nectar — both owned by parent company Resident Home — are leading the charge with the steepest cuts. Their discounts reach up to 60% off, targeting shoppers looking for entry-to-mid-level beds. Casper is offering up to 30% off, Leesa is at 30% off, and Naturepedic is cutting prices by 20%, according to York Daily Record.
Saatva, the luxury benchmark of the group, is not slashing prices as deeply. Instead, it leans on perks like white-glove delivery to justify its higher price point. The average queen-size hybrid mattress now costs about $1,500 in 2026, up from $1,300 in 2024, so even a 20-30% discount adds up to real money.
This is not just holiday spirit. The mattress industry had a rough 2025, with wholesale dollar sales dropping 12.7% in late 2024. Unit sales have been falling for years. Retailers need to move product, and the 4th of July is one of five major "big sleep" holidays the industry counts on for revenue, according to Cincinnati Enquirer.
There is also a replacement wave hitting right now. Millions of "bed-in-a-box" mattresses bought between 2018 and 2020 are reaching the end of their 7-to-10-year lifespan. Brands are racing to win those replacement shoppers. The July 4th window alone typically accounts for 15-20% of annual revenue for top brands.
A growing slice of shoppers is skipping foam beds entirely. Avocado Green Mattress launched a sitewide 15% off "Celebrate Organic Independence Day Sale" through July 13. The company holds Climate Neutral Certified status and markets itself as the most sustainable mattress brand. Naturepedic and Awara are also drawing eco-conscious buyers away from petroleum-based foam, according to Foster's Daily Democrat.
Meanwhile, AARP testers named the Nectar Premier Memory Foam the top holiday deal for shoppers aged 45 and up, citing its spinal alignment and edge support. Bear Mattress kicked off its own summer sale as early as June to capture shoppers before the main holiday rush.
Experts are split. Major outlets like Forbes and Tom's Guide say this week is a genuine buying window — especially because July 1 is considered the last "safe" date for delivery before holiday logistics slow things down. If you need a mattress soon, waiting could mean delays. Brands like Layla, though, have historically offered $200 off year-round, so check whether your target bed actually goes on sale or just relabels its regular price, according to News-Press.
Savvy shoppers on Reddit's r/bedroom recommend waiting until July 3rd to see if brands sweeten deals with last-minute freebies — like accessory bundles worth up to $599. If you can hold out until Black Friday, that is historically when the absolute deepest discounts appear. But for most people, a 30-60% off sale on a $1,500 mattress is a deal worth taking right now.
