Control Resonant Launches September 24, 2026, With Dylan Faden Leading Supernatural Crisis

Remedy announced that Control Resonant will launch on September 24, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with pre-orders now open. A Digital Deluxe edition includes 48-hour early access for PlayStation digital pre-orders. In the sequel, players control Dylan Faden as he confronts a new supernatural crisis in a distorted Manhattan where reality, gravity, and natural law are unraveling. Jesse Faden remains central and appears in the story trailer, while Dylan grapples with his past and the FBC’s missing leadership; the trailer also teases Dr. Casper Darling’s return and deeper connections between Jesse and Dylan. Gameplay moves away from the original’s gunplay, focusing on Dylan’s gravity manipulation and a shapeshifting melee weapon called Aberrant that can be configured for different fighting styles. The narrative emphasizes progression-driven struggles for identity and humanity across perception-bending locations and metaphysical spaces.
Remedy describes the threat as a “new, otherworldly form of resonance,” positioned alongside the Hiss and the Mold as additional forces the FBC must confront.
PlayStation’s materials emphasize that while Jesse “remains central” and has a presence, Dylan is the one “moving the story forward,” underscoring that Jesse is not the playable character in Resonant.
Dylan Faden is portrayed by actor Sean Durrie, as noted in coverage of the State of Play story trailer.
The story trailer’s tease of Dr. Casper Darling’s return is framed in context of the wider Remedy universe: he was last seen in Alan Wake 2, where it was implied he’d ended up in the Dark Place.
Beyond gravity and melee, the trailer/press description highlights a broader gameplay loop: players will make choices to shape evolving abilities, use the environment, and “unleash elemental abilities” while battling ever-changing threats.
